March 8th-Monday- 12th day in Nepal
Today was an wonderful day. In the morning the group gathered on the circus bus and headed to a huge temple, Boudhanath Temple. The difference between this temple and the others that we visited was the maintenance. You could easily observe that differences. This temple was well respected meaning only a little bit of trash was left on the streets. Throughout our stay at the temple we were asked to walk around a big spinning die. One thing about Nepalese people, they aren't stubborn about tourists learning about their religion. After we all took our turn we headed up the steps and our guide asked us to either circle the perimeter once or three times. Most students walked the perimeter three times. The temple we visited today showed me and many other students another side of Nepal. It mainly showed us that they can keep certain things clean. Once we finished our tour of the temple we planned to head to a new orphanage that was already fairly cleaned. Many of the boys including myself played soccer with many of the kids. Towards the end of the game Charlie sliced his toe open and that ended the game. The objective was for the group to paint a new building that they were looking forward to moving into. The process was fun and you know what they say when you are having fun "time flies". When we reached to hotel we were rushed and told to be dressed and ready to attain a tea party. The owner of a nice guest house invited us over because he heard we were from the Hamptons. The small get together was quite sweet and we all received really nice gifts. Tomorrow should be quite fun. 4 days till home. Brandon Pettaway.
