Final day of painting.
After a late night out at the local restaurant the crew woke up at seven o'clock just missing the sunrise. The hotel prepared us a hearty breakfast which we devoured for the physically tolling work ahead of us. Upon arriving at the school without any hassle Hope and Home divided us into work groups. Ross School Nepal Volunteer Group 2010 worked fervently today after our encouraging morale booster speech from Mr Schade at the resort before arriving at the school. After volunteering arduously for two days we finished our service and treated ourselves to some exquisite Daal Baat at the eatery across the street. As promised we were given time to bond with the children which was enjoyed by all. The head of the school surprised us with a ceremony meant for us for our hard work. Hope and Home and the Ross School donated several waste bins to dispose of trash that would usually end up in the environment of Chitwan. The headmaster in return presented a handmade Nepali drum with praises the Ross School written on it. D'Ashley and Ms Philippi both made speeches expressing the importance of community service and gratitude for allowing the Ross School to serve their school. The ceremony consisted of two traditional dances by the Tharu people, the natives of the Terai region in the south of Nepal. It ended with a dance native to the USA prepared by D'Ashley, Kayla, Faith and I. The crowd was astounded by our skills and foreign dance style. We then boarded the bus and headed home to the resort where we were greeted with the traditional Nepali meal and mac and cheese. After a long day, we went to sleep in preparation for another long day ahead. Hank Oppenheimer.

Unbelievable pictures! What an amazing experience!
